Leadership Executive Coaching - Professional Development
For any business to enjoy sustained success, amongst the many attributes it
will need to possess, none will be more critical than a 'climate of Leadership'.
For many business owners the responsibility of Leadership Development is something that
'sneaks up on them'. Few are formally trained to be 'leaders'.
The KONA Group's 'Leadership Executive Coaching' programme has been designed
to facilitate learning in all of the critical areas of Leadership and has been
developed in conjunction with our strategic partners HCG. Since 1984, leadership
development has been HCG's primary focus. Their work with over 6,000 executives
and senior managers, including 650+ CEOs, provides us unique insights into the
characteristics of successful managers and leaders, and has enabled us to build
the largest empirical database in the country on factors contributing to
leadership success.
This database enables our clients to evaluate themselves relative to an
actual, not theoretical, benchmark of leadership. In addition, we have expertise
in understanding the factors that can lead to career derailment for key
executives.
The leadership development programme consists of 3 phases:

Stage 1. Leadership Assessment & Feedback — Participants undertake a number of
web-based self-assessments, which are complemented by 360° assessments. Feedback
is provided regarding both the behaviours and skills which are exhibited by the
participant, which contribute to their current effectiveness as leaders - and
compared to our empirical database.
Developmental opportunities are identified, in conjunction with the
participant, at this point.
Stage 2. Leadership Goal Setting — Participants begin to explore some of their professional
development goals, ultimately determining 3 or 4 and a process for actioning,
monitoring and 'disciplining' is put in place, with the individual.
Stage 3. Leadership Development & Coaching — An appropriately customised and focused combination of
'formal' learning and coaching interventions occurs. The executive coaching component occurs mostly in the workplace,
enabling learning to occur in 'real-life', resulting in improvements not only
for the individual but also for those to whom the individual is responsible for
providing leadership.
The profesional development programme can be customised in terms of delivery to cater for an
individual or an entire leadership team - utilising a combination of workshops, scenarios, lecture sessions, one-on-one coaching, goal setting and
continuous monitoring or mentoring.
The Leadership Executive Coaching programme is designed to
take participants through an evolutionary journey to leadership. It has been
described as an 'MBA with more punch and without the cost'. Our database has
been used within over 300 organisations, in multiple countries, for developing
their key executives. It has benefited from 18 years of research and
improvement, and is certainly one of the most comprehensive, structured, and
effective tools for increasing the value added to an organisation by a key
executive.
